Kherson regional authorities call to prepare for evacuation from 3 urban districts

ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 6 (Interfax) - Evacuation of three urban districts in the Kherson region has been planned due to the damaged infrastructure of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant (HPP), the regional administration said.

"A planned evacuation is being prepared due to a sudden rise of water levels caused by damage to the Kakhovka HPP dam. Attention residents of the Novaya Kakhovka, Golaya Pristan and Alyoshki districts: collect personal belongings, documents, food and drinking water in amounts sufficient for 3 days," the administration said on Telegram.

The authorities recommend that people turn off the gas and water in their homes before evacuation.
