VORONEZH. June 6 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has assured the population there is no enemy present in the regional territory.
"We are trying to inform you about every challenging event as soon as possible. We understand the extremely hard situation for residents of the Belgorod region and its border territories. There is no enemy present in the territory of the Belgorod region today. There is no enemy present in Novaya Tavolzhanka either," Gladkov said on Telegram on Tuesday.
The regional operative headquarters warned earlier about false information alleging the presence of several armed groups of hostiles in the Belgorod region.
"Calls to residents of the region regarding the operation of armed groups of hostile saboteurs in the regional territory have grown frequent. The callers in messengers introduce themselves as police officers and say that residents of the Belgorod region could detain saboteurs, moving around in police vehicles, dressed in Russian army uniforms and wearing white armbands, on their own," the headquarters said.
