MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) - The Russian military has downed three Ukrainian Sukhoi military planes, two Su-25s and and Su-27, in the Kherson region and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said.
The following were "downed by air defense over the past 24 hours: two Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near Babino in the Kherson region and Nikolskoye in the DPR," Konashenkov said at a briefing on Tuesday.
Russian troops also downed a Ukrainian Su-27 plane near the village of Andreyevka in the DPR, he said.
In addition, "two Ukrainian [Mil] Mi-8 helicopters were downed in the Zaporozhye region and the DPR," he said.
"Ammunition depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 57th and 72nd Motorized Infantry Brigades and the 108th Territorial Defense brigade were destroyed near Bogdanovka and Dobrovolye in the DPR and Sherbaki in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
Russian troops intercepted a Storm Shadow cruise missile, a HARM anti-radiation missile, and 12 projectiles fired by HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems and Uragan multiple rocket launchers, he said.
"Tactical and army aviation and missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces have struck 84 artillery units at their firing positions as well as troops and hardware in 114 areas over the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.
In addition, 19 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the DPR, the Lugansk People's Republic and the Zaporozhye region, he said.
