Two villages in Russia's Kursk region lose power as bombs dropped on substation, worker injured - governor

VORONEZH. June 7 (Interfax) - Roman Starovoit, the governor of Russia's Kursk region, has reported damage sustained by a power substation in the Glushkovo district after it was hit by Ukrainian bombs.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces dropped two bombs on a power substation in the village of Popovo-Lezhachi in the Gluskovo district last night. The damage cut the power supply to Popovo-Lezhachi and Tyotkino. A worker suffered a shrapnel wound while trying to fix the damage," Starovoit said on Telegram on Wednesday.

Once the demining teams complete their work, repair personnel will continue restoring the power supply, he said.

A yellow (high) level of terrorist alert has been in force in the Kursk region since April 11, 2022. The region, which borders Ukraine, has repeatedly come under attack.
