ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 7 (Interfax) - Four communities in the Kherson region have been virtually submerged underwater following the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant's infrastructure, Novaya Kakhovka administration head Vladimir Leontyev told reporters.
"The entire village of Korsunka, except for its last street, is [now] underwater. Dnepryany, Krynki and Kazachy Lagerya, located downstream, are submerged up to their roofs," Leontyev said.
There were no casualties, as the dam did not collapse instantly but instead came down over five hours, he said.
