MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Up to 20 aircraft are taking part in an exercise of the Russian Baltic Fleet's marine aviation, the fleet's press service said on Thursday.
The training involves commanders of aviation units. Their primary objective is to elaborate unified methods of pilot training for the most difficult missions, the press service said.
"Aviation unit commanders and their deputies will conduct the training day and night for the next few days, using Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jets, Su-30SM and Su-30SM2 multirole fighter jets and Su-24M frontline bombers," it said.
"In all, the exercise involves up to 20 aircraft and various kinds of airfield equipment," the press service said.
"The pilots will train takeoffs and landings at night and in limited visibility, as well as nap-of-the-earth flights," it said.
