MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Russia's military leadership has informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in the Zaporozhye sector, where an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces was thwarted, Alexander Romanchuk, commander of the Russian group of forces in the Zaporozhye sector, said on Thursday.
"Last night, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief contacted the commander of the military district's troops, who reported to him in detail on the situation in our sector. This morning, the chief of the General Staff reported to the president on the results of combat [which occurred during] the night," Romanchuk said.
