Russia considering withdrawing from grain deal - Putin

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Western countries have once again deceived Russia by not meeting its requirements within the grain deal, and Moscow is considering withdrawing from the deal.

"Unfortunately, they once again deceived us, they did nothing in terms of liberalization of supplies of our grain to foreign markets. I'm referring to freight, insurance, payments, connecting our Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT. There were many varying conditions, which the Westerners were supposed to fulfill under the guidance of the United Nations. Nothing has been done," Putin said at a meeting with military reporters, answering a question as to whether Russia needs the grain deal.

"We're considering withdrawing from this grain deal now," he said.

Russia "extended these agreements several times in the interests of the friendly states," he said. "Everyone understands that it meets our interests too, - maintaining kind, good, steady relations with the part of the world which does not support the aggressive actions of the West and its satellites in the Ukraine," he said.
