Zapad-Akhmat battalion to be involved in preventing sabotage in Russia's border areas - Kadyrov

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Zapad-Akhmat battalion troops will be involved in preventing attacks by groups of Ukrainian saboteurs in Russia's border areas, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, said.

Kadyrov said on his Telegram channel that State Duma member Adam Delimkhanov had met with the Belgorod region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, Defense Ministry representatives and the administration of the regional directorate of the Russian Guard on his orders.

The agenda included issues relating to interaction on preventing sabotage by military formations in border areas, he said.

"This work will involve the troops of the Zapad-Akhmat battalion of the Russian Defense Ministry, which will work on achieving this task in close contact with other Russian units," Kadyrov said.
