Half of Russians welcome Erdogan's reelection - poll

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - Fifty percent of Russians view reelection of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a positive factor for further development of the Moscow-Ankara partnership, the Public Opinion Foundation said on its website on Wednesday.

These respondents say that Erdogan is a politician friendly to Russia, who supports the development of bilateral economic relations, including major Russian-Turkish projects, the pollster said.

Only 2% of respondents argued the opposite.

About a third are undecided, and 18% say they do not care, the pollster said.

The Public Opinion Foundation polled 1,500 respondents aged 18 and up in 104 populated localities in 53 regions of Russia on June 2-4.
