ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - There is a threat of further NATO involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
In his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin said Ukraine's offensive actions involve, in particular, Leopard tanks. "Tanks are burning, including Leopards [...] They are burning, and F-16 will burn as well, there is no doubt [about this]," Putin said.
"But if they [F-16 planes] are located at air bases outside Ukraine and are used in military actions, Russia will see how and where we can hit weapons that are used in military actions against us," Putin said, emphasizing that "this is a serious danger of further NATO involvement in this military conflict."
