ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - The first nuclear warheads have been delivered to Belarus, and this work will be completed before the year is out, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"As you know, we held talks with our allied state, with President Lukashenko, for part of these tactical nuclear weapons to be transferred to Belarusian territory. This has happened. The first nuclear warheads have been delivered to Belarus," Putin told a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday.
"But only the first ones, this is just the first part. Before the end of the summer, before the end of the year, we will finish this work as a whole, and entirely," Putin said.
