Russia will not cut its nuclear arsenal - Putin

ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - Russia is not planning to reduce its nuclear arsenal, as this is what NATO wants it to do, President Vladimir Putin told a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday.

"We have more of these weapons than NATO countries [do]. They know this, and they've been encouraging us all the time to begin talks on reductions. Lay off, understand? As our people would say," Putin said.
