Russian forces hold air defense drill in Arctic

MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - Duty forces of the Russian Northern Fleet's Air Defense Missile Regiment have trained in protecting Russia's Arctic airspace, the fleet's press service said.

"An S-400 air defense missile system trained in [conducting] radar surveillance, tracking mock targets, air combat, and simulated launches of guided air defense missiles. Surveillance systems showed that all airborne targets were hit," the press service said.

Sukhoi Su-33 fighter jets of the Northern Fleet's Air Force and Air Defense Army served as the mock enemy, it said.
