Eight hurt in Ukrainian attacks on Russia's Belgorod region in past 24 hours - governor

VORONEZH. June 19 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has reported Ukrainian attacks seen in the past 24 hours.

"Forty artillery shells and 14 Grad rockets were fired at the town of Valuyki over the past day. Eight people were hurt," Gladkov said on Telegram on Monday.

One of the casualties is a child.

Damage was done to five residential buildings and four private houses: windows were smashed and facades were scratched, Gladkov said, adding that three cars were also hit.

Three tube artillery rounds were fired at the village of Verigovka in the Valuyki urban district. There are neither casualties nor damage. Three bombs were dropped from drones in the village of Novopetrovka. No one was hurt, yet two cars were damaged.

"Seven artillery shells were fired at the village of Solntsevka in the Belgorod region, alongside five at the village of Bochkovka, and two at the village of Naumovka. There are no casualties or damage in either locality," Gladkov said.

Five mortar shells were fired at the outskirts of Kazachye-Rudchenskoye in the Borisovka district. No one was hurt, and no damage was reported.

The Volokovka district was hit 55 times in the reporting period, Gladkov said. The area was shelled by artillery and mortars. Twenty-nine shells were fired at the outskirts of Tishanka, alongside 18 at the outskirts of Stary, and eight at the outskirts of Kiselyov. There are no casualties or damage in either of them.

Fifteen mortar shells were fired at the village of Kozinka in the Graivoron urban district. Another three shells hit the village vicinity. No one was hurt, and no damage was done. Ten grenade launcher shots were fired at the village of Sporadyushino. No damage was done.

The outskirts of Grafovka and Demidovka in the Krasnaya Yaruga district were hit by four and one mortar shells, respectively. There are no casualties or damage.

Eleven mortar shells were fired at Leninsky in the Shebekino urban district, alongside eight at the village of Terezovka, five at the Shebekino checkpoint, and three at the village of Belyanka. Tube artillery shelled the village of Murom and the area between Grafovka and Bezlyudovka - they were hit four and eight times, respectively.

None of those populated localities reported casualties or damage, Gladkov said.
