BAKU. June 19 (Interfax) - The Armenian Armed Forces fired upon Azerbaijani army positions near the border between the two countries on Monday, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
"On July 19, at approximately 1:35 p.m., units of Armenian Armed Forces fired from the community of Arazdeyen in the Vedi district [the Azerbaijani name of Yeraskh] upon Azerbaijani army positions near the town of Heydarabad in the Sadarak district of the Nakhchivan autonomous republic," the ministry said.
Azerbaijani forces took countermeasures, it said.
As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry had said several times last week that Armenian forces fired upon Azerbaijani positions near that border sector.
