MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Russian forces have hit two Ukrainian ammo depots near Zaporozhye and a Ukrainian Mil Mi-8 helicopter has been downed in the Zaporozhye region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Two artillery depots, those of the 1,513th Artillery Base and the 65th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, have been hit near the city of Zaporozhye," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Monday.
"Meanwhile, air defense downed a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force in the vicinity of Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
Russian air defense intercepted five projectiles of HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems and destroyed 14 Ukrainian drones in the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics and the Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkov regions over the day, he said.
"Tactical aircraft, army aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces' contingent hit 93 artillery units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on firing positions, besides troops and military hardware in 102 areas in the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.
"A total of 444 planes, 240 helicopters, 4,700 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defense missile systems, 10,192 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,125 multiple rocket launchers, 5,163 artillery systems and mortars, and 11,047 special vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation," he said.
