Belarus will not attack its neighbors - Defense Ministry

MINSK. June 19 (Interfax) - Belarus is not going to attack any of its neighbors, Leonid Kasinsky, an aide to the Belarusian defense minister, said.

"The same is true as far as tactical nuclear weapons are concerned. Why turn this into a problem? Our Western partners [and] neighbors are trying to make it a problem. The commander-in-chief has made it very clear: we are not going to attack anyone. Regarding the use of tactical nuclear weapons, the commander-in-chief has also outlined these boundaries very clearly: [tactical nuclear weapons could be used] in the event of aggression," Kasinsky told the STV state-run television channel.

"Stay away from us, and the weapons will remain in their silos. There won't any problems. We're not going to attack anybody," he said.

At the same time, Kasinsky described the forms and methods currently being used by Ukraine and Western intelligence services as "terrorist methods of warfare."

"We have no enemies, in accordance with the National Security Concept. We will likely not overstep the line. Unlike them, [whom] we will call [our] Western partners," he said.
