Kremlin views Biden's comment on Xi as another manifestation of mentoring in U.S. foreign policy

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - The United States is continuing to demonstrate elements of mentoring in its foreign policy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, as he commented on a remark by U.S. President Joe Biden who called Chinese President Xi Jinping a dictator.

"On one hand, of course, these are highly contradictory manifestations of U.S. foreign policy, which suggest a large element of unpredictability. There is unpredictability, on the one hand, and further manifestations of mentoring in U.S. foreign policy, on the other hand, which is not acceptable for a huge number of states," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

According to him, the number of such countries is growing.

"A few days back, you and I saw information about the meetings the U.S. secretary of state had in Beijing, various sorts of reconciliatory statements, and so on, and now we see the incomprehensible compensation for those actions by the head of state. Still, it's their business," Peskov said.

"We have bad relations with the United States and very good relations with the People's Republic of China," he said.
