Ukrainian army's serious losses could result in loss of its combat effectiveness - Putin

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - It appears that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently forming new units from brigades that have sustained losses, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"It seems that what the enemy is doing now is combining new units out of brigades that have suffered serious losses, and is restoring their combat capabilities," Putin said after a meeting with military college graduates on Wednesday after being asked to comment on the situation along the line of contact.

"Of course, it [Ukraine] fears the same scope of losses in the future, because it could result not only in the loss of its ability to mount an offensive, but also in the loss of the army's combat effectiveness as a whole. [They have] something to think about," he said.
