ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 22 (Interfax) - The town of Tokmak in northern Zaporozhye region came under Ukrainian missile fire on Thursday, killing one civilian, a spokesman for regional emergency services told reporters.
"Presumably, fire emanated from a [High Mobility Artillery Rocket System] HIMARS. The foundation of a nine-story tower block was damaged. One civilian is dead," the spokesman said.
In all, three shells were launched, two of them shot down, the town's emergency service said.
Tokmak is one of the frontline settlements in the Zaporozhye region, which are targeted by Ukraine's military most often. It is on the list of towns where authorities offered voluntary evacuation for safety reasons. According to open data, until recently, it had a population of up to 30,000 people.
