Shoigu visits forward command post of western group of forces in special military operation zone - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has visited a forward command post of the western group of forces in the zone of the special military operation, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu visited a forward command post of a formation of the western group of forces in the course of his work in the special military operation zone," the ministry said.

While at the command post, Shoigu was briefed by group commander Col. Gen. Yevgeny Nikiforov "on the current situation, the type of operations conducted by the enemy, and the performance of combat missions by Russian forces in main tactical sectors."

"The commander and commanding officers of the western group of forces were tasked with continuing active intelligence operations for the purpose of early detection of the enemy's plans and prevention of their fulfillment at long distances from the contact line," the ministry said.

The commander also informed Shoigu about the formation and coordination of new regiments of the western group of forces' reserves.

"The Russian defense minister had a meeting with the group command and noted high efficiency in detecting and striking military hardware and concentrations of enemy troops in tactical sectors of the group's zone of responsibility," the ministry said.

"Shoigu highlighted the organization of comprehensive supplies to the troops involved in the special military operation and their safe accommodation," it said.
