Total of 1.8 bln rubles paid as compensations to residents of Russia's Belgorod region relocated due to Ukrainian attacks

BELGOROD. June 26 (Interfax) - The Belgorod region has fully spent 1.8 billion rubles, provided from the Russian federal budget for compensations to residents of border territories forced to relocate due to Ukrainian attacks, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said at a meeting on Monday.

"The first tranche received by us from the federal budget, 1.8 billion rubles, has been fully spent, transferred to the residents. We are awaiting the second tranche," Gladkov said.

According to Regional Social Protection and Labor Minister Yelena Batanova, 10,000-ruble one-off compensations were paid to 51,000 out of 57,000 relocated residents entitled to such payments.

Some 27,500 residents have received 50,000-ruble compensations. Batanova said that was half of those entitled to receive the payments.

"The rest of the funds will be transferred as soon as the second tranche arrives," she said.

As reported earlier, residents of the Belgorod region, who had to leave their homes because of attacks, will receive one-off compensations in the amount of 10,000 rubles and compensations for the loss of some of their property in the amount of 50,000 rubles. The recipients are residents registered in the communities where a state of emergency has been declared as of May 22 in the Grayvoron urban district and as of May 31 in the Shebekino urban district.

The authorities have organized evacuation to temporary accommodation centers in the region and in other parts of Russia, as the Shebekino urban district came under massive attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It was also reported that over 380 homes were damaged in the Grayvoron urban district on May 22-23 in clashes with a sabotage and reconnaissance group.

The federal budget assigned 3.85 billion rubles for helping Belgorod region residents affected by the attacks.
