Two Crimea residents suspected of collaborating with Ukrainian Security Service arrested - FSB

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Two residents of Yalta have been arrested on suspicion of passing information on the situation in Crimea to a Ukrainian special service and agreeing to commit acts of sabotage, the Federal Security Service (FSB) public relations center reported on Monday.

"It has been established that the Yalta residents proactively collaborated with a representative of the Ukrainian Security Service, to whom they passed information on the sociopolitical, economic, and military situation on the peninsula," the FSB said.

In addition, they "offered to take photos and video recordings of Russian Armed Forces facilities in the interests of the Ukrainian special service and voiced their willingness to commit acts of sabotage and terrorism with regard to military sites in the Republic of Crimea," it said.

The FSB investigative department for Crimea and Sevastopol has opened criminal cases against the detainees on suspicion of confidential collaboration with a foreign state or an international or foreign organization.

"The Kievsky District Court of Simferopol has ordered that the suspects be taken into pretrial custody," it said.
