MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - During contacts with Russian government officials on Sunday, United States Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy gave signals indicating that Washington had no relation to the events involving the Wagner Group and viewed them as Russia's internal affair, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
"When United States Ambassador Tracy spoke to Russian representatives yesterday and passed on signals - perhaps these signals are not secret - they primarily implied that the U.S. had nothing to do with that, that the United States hoped [Russian] nuclear weapons would be in order, and that American diplomats would not suffer," Lavrov said in an interview with RT.
"[She] stressed in particular that the United States acted based on the premise that all the developments were the Russian Federation's internal affair," he said.
