UAE leader declares full support of Russian leadership's steps - Kremlin

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who wanted to hear assessments of the situation in Russia following the attempted mutiny on June 24, the Russian leader's press service said.

The phone call took place at the UAE's initiative.

"After receiving exhaustive information, the UAE leader declared his complete support of the steps taken by the Russian leadership," the press service said.

The parties also discussed a number of key issues concerning the further development of cooperation between the two countries in light of the results reached at the talks on June 16 during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Putin also congratulated bin Zayed Al Nahyan and all people in the UAE on the Eid al-Adha holiday, which will be celebrated soon, the press service said.
