MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has rejected an UN special commission's accusations alleging ill-treatment of children by the Russian army during the events in Ukraine.
"We resolutely reject such claims," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters after being asked to comment on a report by the UN secretary general's special envoy that accused Russia of violating children's rights, but also said that the army took measures to improve the protection of children.
"Our troops have taken measures many times, risking their own lives, to save children, to rescue them from ongoing strikes, which, by the way, were delivered against civilian infrastructure by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Peskov said.
