Russian defense minister, Iranian armed forces chief of staff discuss military, military-technical cooperation in phone call

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri reaffirmed their determination to develop contacts in the military field in a phone call on Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri had a telephone conversation today," it said.

Shoigu and Bagheri "discussed relevant aspects of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation," it said.

"The parties reaffirmed their determination to intensify dialogue and develop contacts in the military field," it said.
