Ukrainian army fires over 80 shells at Dnieper left bank in Kherson region in past day

ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 84 artillery rounds over the past day at communities on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, where efforts are continuing to restore infrastructure following the flood, a spokesperson for the region's emergency services told reporters.

Civilian infrastructure in the towns of Novaya Kakhovka and Kakhovka and the Proletarka and Peschanovka villages came under tube artillery fire overnight, the spokesperson said. Hits by 27 shells were recorded.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to deliver strikes throughout the day on June 29. In all, 57 shells were fired at communities on the left bank of the Dnieper, the spokesperson said. Damage was caused to Alyoshki, Golaya Pristan, Krynki, Korsunka, Peschanovka, Kazachiy Lagerya, and Kardashinka.

Efforts are still in progress on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region to deal with the aftermath of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant on June 6. Some communities remain flooded.
