VLADIVOSTOK. June 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Pacific Fleet's Admiral Tributs large anti-submarine ship has practiced searching for and destroying a mock enemy submarine during an exercise in the Sea of Japan, the fleet's press service said.
"A Project 636.3 Varshavyanka diesel submarine from the Primorye Flotilla of the Pacific Fleet's Combined Arms Forces served as the mock enemy," the press service said.
The ship and the submarine simulated a duel during the drills. The Admiral Tributs detected the mock enemy submarine and attacked it with torpedoes and rocket-propelled bombs. The submarine delivered a torpedo strike on the ship in response.
The Admiral Tributs also practiced anti-submarine defense measures and combat maneuvers while searching for the mock enemy submarine, and evading an anti-ship weapon strike. All tasks set for the exercise were accomplished.
