BRUSSELS. June 30 (Interfax) - European leaders agreed at an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday to consider EU member countries' participation in ensuring security measures for Ukraine.
"The European Union and member states stand ready to contribute, together with partners, to future security commitments to Ukraine, which will help Ukraine defend itself in the long term [...] and resist destabilization efforts," the European Council's conclusions adopted at the summit said.
The European Council and EU member states "will swiftly consider the modalities of such contribution," the conclusions said.
These commitments will be taken "in full respect of the security and defense policy of certain member states and taking into account the security and defense interests of all member states," they said.
"The European Council will remain seized of the matter," EU leaders said.
