Russian military fires Iskander system at Ukrainian troops near Antonovka bridge in Kherson region - authorities

ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces are continuing their combat operation near the Antonovka bridge in the Kherson region, including with the use of an Iskander missile system, the region's acting governor Vladimir Saldo said.

"Personnel of the Dnieper group of forces are successfully continuing a mopping-up operation to neutralize Ukrainian armed formations in the vicinity of the Antonovka bridge. A missile strike with an Iskander system was delivered today. Thirty combatants were killed and a dozen more were injured," Saldo said on his Telegram channel on Friday.

The remnants of groups of Ukrainian soldiers are taking cover on both sides of the bridge close to some country cottages, he said.

"Artillery is working effectively against them. Afterwards, special operations units of the Dnieper group will begin a final mopping-up operation," Saldo said.

Saldo earlier reported attempts by the Ukrainian army to cross the Dnieper in the vicinity of the Antonovka bridge and to take cover under its remaining sections.

The 1.4-km long and 25-meter wide Antonovka bridge used to connect the city of Kherson with the left bank of the Dnieper. It was destroyed during hostilities.
