MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has said work is underway to form the command bodies of the Moscow and Leningrad Military Districts, with personnel and military hardware for military units being prepared.
"In accordance with a presidential decree to increase the size of the Armed Forces, the command bodies of the Moscow and Leningrad Military Districts, a combined arms army and an army corps are being formed," Shoigu said at a teleconference on Monday.
"Currently, the scheduled delivery of weapons [and] military and special hardware is being carried out simultaneously with providing them with personnel, troop training and cohesion of military units," Shoigu said.
