BEIJING. July 3 (Interfax) - Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu and Russian Navy Commander Nikolai Yevmenov met in Beijing on Monday, the CGTN channel said in a report.
Li told Yevmenov that China was ready to work together with Russia on implementing the agreements reached by the two heads of state and on deepening their strategic partnership, the channel said.
Li expressed confidence that relations between the two armed forces would be developed further and raised to a new level.
Li added that he expected the two navies to strengthen relations at all levels and regularly organize joint exercises and patrolling missions.
In turn, Yevmenov said that Russia attributed great significance to stronger cooperation between the Russian and Chinese armed forces. He pledged to broaden exchanges between the two navies at all levels and to raise relations between the two countries' armed forces to a new level, the channel said.
