MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - A resident of Tyumen, who tried to blow up a gas distribution station in the Isetsky district of the Tyumen region, has offered armed resistance to the arresting officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and has been killed, the FSB public relations center said.
"The Russian FSB, acting together with the Russian Investigative Committee, put a stop to the illegal activity of followers of a nationalist ideology, citizens of Russia, plotting a terror attack in the Tyumen region on the orders from emissaries of Ukrainian paramilitary formations," the center said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Thursday.
"One of them offered armed resistance during the detention on the site of the plotted terror attack and was killed by returned fire," the center said.
In turn, the Russian Investigative Committee reported the opening of a criminal case on charges of plotting a terror attack, attacking a law enforcement officer, as well as illegal possession of weapons and explosives.
