All Russian nuclear weapons to be transferred to Belarus to arrive before year's end - Lukashenko

MINSK. July 6 (Interfax) - The Russian nuclear weapons intended for transfer to Belarus will arrive there before the end of 2023, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"The locations where the nuclear weapons will be deployed were completely ready a month ago. Most have been transferred and are in Belarus. We will completely transfer the warheads intended for this before the end of this year, and I think much earlier," the BelTA state news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying at a meeting with foreign and Belarusian journalists in Minsk on Thursday.

On June 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the transfer of Russian tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus would start after July 7-8, when the construction of relevant facilities will be completed.
