KRASNODAR. July 6 (Interfax) - The build-up of NATO's military infrastructure near Russia's borders and the presence of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe are increasing the military threats to Russia, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on Thursday.
"The build-up of NATO's military infrastructure near Russia's borders, the intensification of intelligence activities, and the presence of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe are increasing the military threats to Russia," Patrushev said at a conference in Krasnodar dealing with national security in the regions of the Southern Federal District.
NATO's Defender Europe exercise in June, which was intended "to practice [carrying out] plans for redeploying forces and resources along the entire eastern flank, confirmed NATO's aggressive nature yet again," Patrushev said.
