Putin, Mirziyoyev confirm aspiration to develop friendly Russian-Uzbek relations in phone call - Kremlin

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev by phone, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

"Putin cordially congratulated Mirziyoyev on winning a convincing victory in the early presidential election on July 9," the press service said.

The sides "reaffirmed the mutual aspiration for further comprehensive development of friendly Russian-Uzbek relations on the principles of alliance and strategic partnership," it said.

A congratulatory telegram has also been sent to the Uzbek president.
