MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - A man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a deputy head of military mobilization work in Krasnodar, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Tuesday.
"Our investigators in Krasnodar Territory, jointly with police and security officers, have apprehended a man, born in 1959, who is now being investigated for involvement in the murder of the Krasnodar City Administration's deputy head of mobilization, Stanislav Rzhitsky," the statement said.
Yevgeny Pervyshov, a member of the Russian State Duma and the former head of Krasnodar, said that Rzhitsky was killed in Krasnodar on Monday.
"Stanislav Rzhitsky, deputy head of the Krasnodar city department for mobilization work of the city administration, was shot in the back in Krasnodar today. I knew him back when he was commander of the Krasnodar submarine. In the mayor's office, we maintained close relations with its commanders and the crew, we met often," he said on his Telegram channel.
Law enforcement agencies have organized a probe into Rzhitsky's death, the press service for the city administration told Interfax.
The Committee's regional branch has launched a murder inquiry.
