MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - The Russian troops have repelled a Ukrainian military attack at Karmazinovka (Luhansk People's Republic) and advanced 1.5 kilometers deep into and two kilometers across the battlefront, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, the attack detachments from our 15th and 21st motorized-infantry brigades of the central grouping of troops repelled an offensive by a Ukrainian motorized-infantry company near the village of Karmazinovka. On destroying it by fire, Russian units launched a counter-attack, moving 1.5 kilometer deep into and 2km across the front," Shoigu told reporters.
Ukraine's armed forces continue fighting, "trying to breach our defense in various sectors," he said.
"Literally over the past two days, [Ukrainians] have attempted several waves of attacks on units from the 7th company of the 70th motorized-infantry regiment and 291st regiment of the 42nd motorized-infantry division. As a result of two days' virtually nonstop fighting, the enemy has, in that sector, lost up to 90 personnel, four tanks, including three Leopards, and 15 IFVs, including six Bradleys," Shoigu said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces then mounted an overnight attack near Rabotino, which resulted in over 70 of their troops dead and eight IFVs destroyed.
"Thus, all of the Ukrainian military's planned offensives have been disrupted," the Russian minister said.
