MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - The crew of Soyuz MS-24 ship which will fly to the International Space Station (ISS) in September this year will perform four spacewalks during its expedition, the crew commander Oleg Kononenko said on Tuesday.
"Four spacewalks are scheduled," he told reporters.
The spacecraft is due to lift off on September 15, carrying Roscosmos' Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and NASA's Loral O'Hara.
On May 29, Roscosmos said that Kononenko and Chub would embark on a year-long ISS expedition. They will return to earth in late September 2024, the commander said.
O'Hara will head to the ISS under a Russian-U.S. agreement on joint flights.
The agreement was signed in July 2022 for three Roscosmos crewmembers to fly aboard U.S. Crew Dragon spacecraft and three NASA astronauts to fly aboard Soyuz MS spaceships in 2022-2024.
