Russian Defense Ministry reports destruction of Ukrainian army fuel depots in Odessa region

MOSCOW. July 12 (Interfax) - Russian forces have destroyed fuel depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Odessa region and have downed a Ukrainian Mil Mi-24 helicopter in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Depots storing fuel for Ukrainian military hardware have been destroyed near Malodolinskoye and Chernomorsk in the Odessa region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

A battalion command and observation post of the Ukrainian National Guard's 5th Brigade has been hit near Yampol in the DPR, he said.

"Fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces have downed a Mil Mi-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near Cherevkovka in the DPR," Konashenkov said.

"An ammo depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 1st Special Brigade has been destroyed near Volchansk in the Kharkov region," he said.

Air defense has intercepted four Storm Shadow cruise missiles and 15 drones in a number of areas over the past day, Konashenkov said.
