KRASNODAR. July 12 (Interfax) - The suspected murderer of Stanislav Rzhitsky, the deputy head of the city department for mobilization work in Russia's Krasnodar, has confessed that he was recruited by Ukraine, law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
"The suspect in Rzhitsky's murder has confessed during questioning that he was recruited by the Ukrainian security services," law enforcement agencies said.
Yevgeny Pervyshov, Russian State Duma deputy and former head of Krasnodar, said on Monday that Rzhitsky was murdered.
The city administration's press service told Interfax that law enforcement agencies have organized a probe into Rzhitsky's death.
The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case on murder charges. Sergei Denisenko was detained as a suspect. According to the Investigative Committee, a gun fitted with a silencer, which was presumably used to kill Rzhitsky, was found in the man's possession during his detention.
