MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant, part of Rostec's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), has constructed and delivered the second batch of Sukhoi Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Defense Ministry in 2023, Rostec's press service said.
"The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant makes aircraft as part of state defense orders within contractual timeframes, including ahead of schedule, thus meeting the demands of the Russian Aerospace Forces for modern aircraft," the press service quoted UAC General Director Yury Slyusar as saying.
According to Rostec, the Su-35S aircraft passed ground tests and performed test flights in various modes before flying from the plant's airfield to the base.
On July 10, Rostec First Deputy General Director Vladimir Artyakov said that the production of certain types of aircraft, including the Su-35, had doubled to meet the needs of the special military operation in Ukraine.
