KRASNODAR. July 13 (Interfax) - Investigators have filed for the arrest of Sergei Denisenko on suspicion of killing former Krasnodar submarine commander Stanislav Rzhitsky, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Thursday.
"While being questioned by a detective from the Russian Investigative Committee's department in Krasnodar Territory yesterday, Sergei Denisenko pleaded guilty to killing the deputy head of the Krasnodar city mobilization department Stanislav Rzhitsky," the Committee said.
The suspect's testimony was verified at the crime scene.
State Duma deputy, former Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Pervyshov reported Rzhitsky's murder on Monday.
The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on counts of murder.
A court in Krasnodar will order a restrictive measure for Denisenko later on Thursday.
