MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - A legislative amendment clearing the way to equipping the Russian National Guard with heavy military hardware will be submitted to the State Duma soon, Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"As for a legislative amendment on equipping the Russian National Guard with heavy hardware, as far as I know [head of the Duma Information Policy Committee Alexander] Khinshtein has drawn it up together with the Russian National Guard and the government, and it will be submitted in the near future," Volodin said at a Duma plenary session on Thursday.
The president proposed equipping the Russian National Guard with heavy military hardware in early 2023.
