BAKU. July 14 (Interfax) - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has dismissed Armenia's motion dated June 21, 2023, for temporary restrictive measures on Azerbaijan over the opening of a checkpoint on the Lachin road, Azerbaijani media said, citing Azerbaijani Representative to the ECHR, Supreme Court Deputy Chairman Chingiz Askerov.
The ECHR thus defined Armenia's demand that the checkpoint [in Lachin on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border] be removed as unfounded, Askerov said.
The ECHR decided that the checkpoint opened by Azerbaijan on April 23, 2023, did not create impediments to traffic on the Lachin road.
