Long-range interceptors from Central Military District practice searching for mock enemy in Siberia

YEKATERINBURG. July 14 (Interfax) - MiG-31BM long-range interceptors from Russia's Central Military District have practiced searching for a mock enemy in the lower stratosphere in Krasnoyarsk Territory, the district's press service said on Friday.

"The pilots performed training flights to search for mock enemy airborne weapons at an altitude of about 20,000 meters, using a Zaslon-M radar capable of detecting aircraft at an approximate range of 300 kilometers," it said.

They also trained in evading a mock enemy counterattack.

Up to 100 servicemen participated in the exercise, the press service said.
