MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - A delegation of specialists from Myanmar has visited Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome to examine its infrastructure and capabilities, the Center for the Operation of Ground Space Infrastructure Facilities (TsENKI JSC, part of Roscosmos) said on Friday.
"A delegation of specialists from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar led by Maj. Gen. Soe Myint Maung has visited the Vostochny Space Center," it said.
"Specialists of TsENKI-Vostochny Space Center have conducted a tour of the cosmodrome's facilities for the guests. These include the technical facility, where the full cycle of preparing launch vehicles, spacecraft, and upper stages takes place, the Soyuz-2 launch complex for medium-lift launch vehicles, and the site of the second stage of construction work, the future Angara launch complex, where manned programs will be carried out," it said.
Roscosmos CEO Yury Borisov said on April 26 that Algeria, Myanmar, Vietnam, Egypt, and South Africa were drawing up contracts with Russia for launching satellites that would be customized to their orders.
Borisov held negotiations with Myanmar's leader Min Aung Hlaing at the Vostochny Cosmodrome on September 9, 2022, to discuss space cooperation between Russia and Myanmar.
