MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Su-27 naval aviation planes have practiced dogfighting tactics with mock enemy aircraft during an exercise in the Kaliningrad region, the Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Friday.
"The planes carried out a range of aerial combat training elements, paying particular attention to piloting techniques involving offensive and defensive maneuvers at varying altitudes and at different times of day," the statement said.
The jets also "searched for simulated airspace intruders, forced a rogue aircraft to land at an airfield, and carried out attacks involving maneuvers to avoid air-to-air missiles launched by a mock enemy," the fleet's press service said.
The practice was part of routine exercises, it added.
